In the documentary "People Like Me", I learn that American's are divided by class. How people are in a certain class because of how they look, dress, what they eat, their education, where they live, how far they have to walk to school and by their family.I realize that class is everywhere.Class can be determining by what kind food you eat.for example in the video it show how you can determining what class a person is in by what kind of bread they eat.I don't agree with that because if I can buy the expensive brand bread but I prefer to eat a bread that is 99 cent doesn't mean that I belong to the lower class.the video also talk about how people that reach the top.the upper class is because of money, family name and attitude.those who belong and those who don't.
The Tammy story at the end was very touching because here is a mother a single mother who is taking care of her 4 kinds by working a Burger King. She work hard very hard she was born in a poor class. No matter how hard she work she still stuck where she is.One of the thing that got to me is when her son feels like he is better then her and his brother.I understand the pressure of going to school and being around the upper class peers but at the end of the day he still is in the poor class.
Social class,we are all players. As we discuss in class the class we born in we mostly like going to stay in that class. As we grow we separate ourselves from people that don.'t fit in the group or social class.
